Rose Pistola opened in 1996 to critical acclaim, including the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant in America. Named for Rose ‘Pistola’ Evangelista, a neighborhood barkeep, cook and all around character, the restaurant has evolved in to a North Beach institution. Our food has always been inspired by the Northern Coast of Italy and sourced from local fishermen, farmers and ranchers. The Frank Tusa Trio adds a touch of swingin' melodies and rhythms to your tastes. Rose Pistola offers great free live music four nights a week. Our musicians are the best in the bay area and love playing for a crowd in the bar.
